Rose from Clinton, United States

Re my blogpost today of Drive-by shots....yes, that is an Amish horse and buggy. The area we went to yesterday has a whole lot of Amish people. I do not know what you know about them, but they do not have electricity in their house, nor phones. Sometimes they have a phone shack out by the road, but that is not often. I don't think I have ever seen one over there.

15 Oct 2019 4:15pm

@Rose: Thank you Rose. I searched in the Google and read all about Amish . I think, my daughter in law's cousin brother has married an Amish girl..fiercely clinging on to her convictions..but they drive a car. ..But still, in bringing up kids and not using Family planning devices, they are still traditional I think. And I think they have quite some lids !! I have really not enquired .but from what I heard from the boy's mother, the lifestyle resembles the Amish people !! takes all sorts to make this world ! Thank you.

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

A very lovely capture of the droplets.

15 Oct 2019 6:04pm

@Steve Rice: Thank you Steve :)

Rose from United States

I meant to come back after your reply to my reply about the Amish..
The people you describe sounds like maybe they are Mennonite. I could be wrong if course.

17 Oct 2019 10:54am

@Rose: Thank you Rose I did key in the words Mennonites too in Google. I wouldn't know. I only know that if the kids fall ill, they are not taken to Doctors for treatment or given medicines bought from pharmacies. If the kid cries in the night ( even if it is just a month old ) the baby has to be ignored and not given milk. And one is supposed to treat kids like baby talk.. everything just the opposite to our Indian lifestyle, where babies are pampered till thay are able to talk !! Anyway...that's that !
