This friend of the fisherman was holding the rope which had been tied around the waist of the fisherman.The fisherman was venturing into the deep sea with the net!!
So it is, cooperation is strength

I love the three fantastic photographs !! the little crow , the silhouettes of the venturing fisherman and his friend against the backdrop of the tides and the magnificent ocean in its calm and fury. i could detect the string behind the fisher man at the tides after you revealed it ... you are a fabulous photographer

@Gigisis: Thank you Gigisis..Wish I has got closer and shot the pictures..Legs are still not very steady and I did not stand near the waves...out of sheer fear !

@Gigisis: Thank you very much Gigisis..
You made my day. This is at Uthandi, a few kilometres after the VGP Golden Beach on the Mahabalipuram Road. The Chinmaya Mission has built a very beautiful Temple here for Mahavishnu as Mathsyavathara Roopam. The statue is more than seven feet tall..beautifully carved ( half God and half fish ) and surrounded by 100 pillars in which the thousand names of Vishnu are carved in English, Sanskrit and Tamil..The whole Temple is open to the sky!The landscaping is great ! A fantastic temple...BUT NO PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED !! Aw :((((

@Claudiel: Thank you Claudiel :)
I've watched them do this in the Philippines. In some places the fish are so few that they net is extended a kilometer out and then it takes several people to slowly drag it back in.
15 Sep 2019 6:33pm
@Jerry: You are right Jerry. When they are out to get a big catch, they need more hands to drag the fish on to the shore !
A very important friend holding the lifeline.
