To peal to coconuts...

This thick spike like staff made of iron fixed to this stone..is to peal the husk of a coconut.
Found near the trees which you saw here inside the Temple compound

Nice tool. I´ve done this with an ax or hammer. This here looks a bit more "civilized".

@Ralf Kesper: this is for removing the husk from a full coconut. The nut is then broken on a stone or as you say. with the hammer.

We saw this being done in the islands of Tahiti, but they just hammered a strong stick into the ground and slammed the coconut onto it.
