Chaos 2

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 14 March 2019 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Now...this is the DINING TABLE..
So ? What is the Newspaper, letters, a small notebook, laptop etc doing here ?

All these will vanish when we get a phone call that guests are arriving or some one's coming for dinner. Otherwise these remain here ! The bowl in the middle sports ball pens ( reach out in an emergency when someone calls and gives a telephone number,. The number will be noted on one of the envelopes on the table...and later one has to search in his grey cells ..to whom the number belongs..as there will be umpteen numbers here ! The bowl also has a pen drive ( old and which needs to be thrown away!!) The bowl does not have flowers or fruits on a normal day !!

When the Lady of the house went away to the hospital...this chaos took over .
The Chaos still remains! It is CONVENIENCE over AESTHETICS !!

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

Tio is not chaos. It is a mild disorder that belongs to normal life. The perfect order in which everything can be found without searching is a horror for a creative person.

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

I want to say: That is not chaos.

14 Mar 2019 5:43am

@Jypyä Pop: Ha ha ha " a mild Disorder"..I like this Jypya..Aw!! This still remains so and I am yet to set it right !!! As you say it is a question of covenience over chaos !!!

By Marie from Entre montagnes et Bretagne, France

@By Marie: :))) So..like Jypya you too pitch frr organised chaos !! I vote for a clean table with a bowl of flowers in the middle !!!

Captain Guildive Ajoupa from Saint Nazaire.

@Wayra: Thank you Wayra ;)

Mireille T. from Ribérac, France

My idea of chaos is really worse than this organized table! I hope the lady of the house is getting better every day!

14 Mar 2019 9:31am

@Mireille T.: Yes Thank you Mireille..The Lady of the house is much better but the table remains the same !!!!

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Very much convenience as far as I'm concerned :)

14 Mar 2019 10:15am

@grouser: :)) Gosh ! What can I say except " Poor Mrs.G" ? I can relate to her feelings :)

beach from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

The table is the place where people gather, where we work, visit, eat, and, well, live. Our table often is piled high; we shove things aside when it is dinner time. Life.

14 Mar 2019 11:05am

@beach: Aw!! Beach...yes, when there's no guest, we di shove things aside and have our food !!! At least I am happy that there seems to be organized chaos in every home here !! Our son told me once ( when he was young ) "Ours is a home Ma and not a museum !!" But my dad was a stickler ofr being meticulous and would not have anything on the dining table except a small bowl of flowers !!

Hiro from Kyoto, Japan

Your table is much better than mine.

14 Mar 2019 12:16pm

@Hiro: Ha ha ha !! Hiro...my imagination boggles !! I am not visualising anything !

Mhelene from Villiers-sur-Marne, France

Clear if it’s an appropriate organization, it’s not worth trying to clean up.... !

14 Mar 2019 12:17pm

@Mhelene: :))) Ha ha ha ! I have given up Mhelene !!!

Adela Fonts from Spain

This dining table is full of elements of personal life ... mine is the same as yours. When it's time to eat, everything is removed...
Best regards!

Willem from Noord-Scharwoude, Netherlands

Nice and original, clear text.

14 Mar 2019 1:04pm

@Willem: :))) There seems to be a lot of support here for Organised chaos !!!!

Don from Spokane, United States

We use the table because it’s a handy place to lay things down. I suspect most people have things scattered on their tables,

14 Mar 2019 1:15pm

@Don: So I see Don !! But in many homes that I visit, I see a nice empty dining table..May be they also hurriedly clear the table before guests turn up !!

Ruthiebear from Titusville, United States

THis sounds familiar! Right now I am working on a jigsaw pzzale on my dining room table. But my family is coming for St Patrick's dinner on SUnday so I must contrive how to move the puzzle!

14 Mar 2019 2:51pm

@Ruthiebear: Ha ha ha ! A tough dilemma Ruthie. Either you quickly complete the pussle..you have just two days left...or shift the table cloth to your bedroom floor!!

Sam from Chennai, India

This is just not unusual, quite a normal scene. Now that lady of the house is back I am sure that everything will be in the proper place.
An interesting post Devi. :)

14 Mar 2019 3:10pm

@Sam: Thank you Sam:) Far from what you think Sam:) The table remains the same ...till this moment as the lasdy of the house is still to take control!!!!!

B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United States

I think this is all of us - the scramble to put things in order when company is coming.

14 Mar 2019 3:13pm

@B. Thomas: Ha ha ha !! At least we mto put things in order when people turn up !!! That reminds me..we have a game of Scrabble post lunch every afternoon ( me and hubby ) on this same table !!

Elaine Hancock from Olney, United States

Convenience is definitely important. I have found that to be so true as I have gotten older.

15 Mar 2019 1:12am

@Elaine Hancock: aw!! Elaine..I suppose, old age pushes back aesthetics..May be I am getting old too.. though I tell myself that I am a 21year old trapped in a 72 body and don't like to admit I am old

Harry from Apex, NC, United States

looks like my desk. And mine, too, becomes clear when company is coming, But 3 days later...

15 Mar 2019 1:28am

@Harry: Aw!! The moment the company ' leaves, back to chaos !!
