26 Jan 2019 3:23pm

@Sudipto: Run by a Swami called Jaggi Vasudev( you can go into Google search and read all about this place ) Saw your photograph...pelican ? Aw!! he looks tired and sleepy ! Saw your image of Malabar Horn bill..Yes it has a unique call !! I have seen this bird in the Silent valley!!

Gigisis from United States

it is a beautiful shot of the mountain.. ive heard about it from a friend..who is from Salem i hear it is a hard one to climb and be back downhill by place to stay .. Have you made a trip to the top ? . what are the interesting and well built structures in the background...i am sure you will have more on this series..

26 Jan 2019 3:41pm

@Gigisis: We have not climbed that tall Velliangiri hill. Ladies are not allowed to go up there. There is a Shiva Temple there !! A hard trek, we understood. This one is a few kilometers from this Velliangiri mountain where a Swamiji called Jaggi Vadsudev has built a Temple and an ashram. A couple of years ago, he also got installed here a big beautiful statue for Lord Shiva..Aadhi Guru. This is a must visit place as the ambience is beautiful. Of course as with all ashrams and saints, there are people who give controversial opinions about him but we just visited the temples and prayer halls..The meditation hall is awesome ! I was aksed to remove my kolusu( anklet) as it made a slight tinkling sound. The Swami is called a jazzy swami as he plays golf..but I hear he does a lot of good deeds well, each man into his vocation. Shall post more shots soon!

There are so many issues concerning Girl Child and these dames brand Traditions as Gender Bias !! Hmmm I wonder why these dames have not declared Jallikkattu as Gender bias..why don't they fight bulls ? Ha ha ha !!! These so called Female Activists fight for the wrong things !
