The big soft Indian Bread

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 4 March 2018 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

This is called Rumaali Roti- Rumaali meaning a handkerchief. Yes this is as big and as thin as a hankie..but really soft eaten just off the pan ! It hardens when it gets cold !

I'm not sure I came across this variety of Indian bread when there. Is it southern Indian? Big explosive puri was my favourite :)

4 Mar 2018 10:26am

@grouser: Yes puris are great !! This belongs to the northern states especially Punjab..these should be eaten hot..since they are not made of wheat flour but refined flour and become leathery when they become cold !!
