Pathetic !!

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 4 September 2017 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Rather pathetic looking fruits in a roadside shop in small town..Not fresh indeed !!!!

CASIO EX-Z60 1/60 second F/5.4 17 mm

It is sad thing...

4 Sep 2017 5:28am

@Jypyä Pop: Yes...they were really not very fresh :((((

Marjolein from Westvoorne, Netherlands

Too few customers ???

4 Sep 2017 6:14am

@Marjolein: Not too few customers but not so fresh fruits...amy be the summer heat! This was shot a month ago :)

Nelida De La Fuente from Tres Arroyos, Argentina

No se ven mal las frutas, nada mas un poco de maduración en los limones.
Lindos colores y luz. *****

4 Sep 2017 6:43am

@Nelida De La Fuente: Merci beaucoup Nelida:)

jpla from St Barthélémy d, France

On vit dans un drôle de monde

4 Sep 2017 6:59am

@jpla: Merci beaucoup jpla :)

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

Well, they look good by my standards here . . how little I know !

4 Sep 2017 7:32am

@Ronnie 2¢: The pomegranates and oranges look faded and pathetic Ronnie. I think, the best are picked by the flashy mall shops...the roadside shops get the left over ones. But their watermelon juice was great! We had a BIG glass each of that delicious summer fruit juice !!

Sam from Chennai, India

Great capture of the fruits. Lovely colours.
Thank you Devi. :)

4 Sep 2017 8:03am

@Sam: Thank you very much Sam :) This was in Kanchipuram two months ago :)

Dimitrios from ATHENS, Greece

4 Sep 2017 8:22am

Shaun from Thorton, United States

A superb capture of this not so good fruit Devi. I agree with your comments. 5*

4 Sep 2017 9:54am

@Shaun: They were a bit dull! May be the previous day's fruits !

Graciel·la (Vic. Catalonia) from CAT. New European State, Poland

Melons no, but oranges, lemons and pomegranates ... they don't look bad.

4 Sep 2017 10:07am

@Graciel·la (Vic. Catalonia): May be taste was good. But the pomegranates really look pathetic ! :((((

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Business must be slow :)

4 Sep 2017 10:07am

@grouser: Or luck !! The " Rich and Famous" pick the best from the wholesale and the small shops get the leftovers. But the fruit sellers on either side of the roads in villages sell some great stuff at much lesser price !!

Hiro from Kyoto, Japan

I prefer fresh ones

4 Sep 2017 12:47pm

@Hiro: Me too ! But we did have some watermelon juice in this shop and it tasted great!!!

Don from Spokane, United States

I wonder why this shop has anemic looking fruits for sale. I agree that they don't look as appealing as some markets. An interesting picture.

4 Sep 2017 1:34pm

@Don: Yes Don..One reason the heat of summer. The second reason, a small time shop and the best ones were picked and taken away by the bigger shops. The story of Rabbit and tortoise I suppose !

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Despite their freshness, or lack thereof, I love the variety of colors here.

4 Sep 2017 1:39pm

@Steven: Thank you Steven: ) I love fruits anytime of the day. I can literally live on fruits and yoghurt :))

Kyu from Kyoto, Japan

I like the beautiful colors. Wonderful close-up.

4 Sep 2017 1:43pm

@Kyu: Thank you very much Kyu :)

Sudipto from Hyderabad, India

Those pomegrenates do look old (and ironically, overpriced)...

4 Sep 2017 2:22pm

@Sudipto: Yes the pomegranates looked pathetic..but they are not overpriced here !

fateme@@ from Dezful, Iran

But still useful...

4 Sep 2017 2:50pm

@fateme@@: That is far as nutrition content is okay :))

Claudiel from belgium, Belgium

Not fresh but it's a shame to throw them away

4 Sep 2017 3:20pm

@Claudiel: Well they might get sold for a cheaper price :)))

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

I guess they don't sell too well. The oranges may still be good.

4 Sep 2017 4:01pm

@Steve Rice: The heat has made them look sad!! They will all get sold anyway :))

Adela Fonts from Barcelona, Spain

A fruit market not too fresh. But I like mature ... maybe they are good. You can make good jams with them

4 Sep 2017 4:33pm

@Adela Fonts: Yes Adela...Thank you very much :)

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

Oh dear. The crops were not robust, I see.

4 Sep 2017 4:35pm

@Ruthiebear: I think the good ones got picked off first!!!

Existence Artistique from Angers, France

bien ces fruits

4 Sep 2017 5:26pm

@Existence Artistique: Merci beaucoup Existence :)

Elaine Hancock from Olney, United States

I like the colors. The oranges look pretty. I am sure that they will still taste good.

4 Sep 2017 6:50pm

@Elaine Hancock: Yes I suppose so. Their watermelon juice was great!

Lewis from Harns, Netherlands

Nice selection. It looks kind of decent, I'd go for the oranges, they seem ok :)

4 Sep 2017 6:57pm

@Lewis: Only the pomegranates look pathetic !! Well, he cut open one and showed us how red and juicy they were inside !!!

Lalena from Barcelona, Spain

Healthy fruits!!

4 Sep 2017 6:59pm

@Lalena: Absolutely no doubt on that :))))

Irene from San Francisco, United States

Good luck in finding better fruit.

4 Sep 2017 10:07pm

@Irene: We had watermelon juice here and it was very good!

Harry from Apex, NC, United States

they don't look too bad in your photo, but I'm sure many imperfections were visible when you were there

5 Sep 2017 12:41am

@Harry: Yes Harry . But since there was no other fruit shop in the vicinity, I suppose he was able to sell all :)

B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United States

I guess that it is better than no fruit at all.

5 Sep 2017 3:09am

@B. Thomas: You are right !! As they say , " something is better than nothing." :))))

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

I like this one, everything is in sharp focus and the colours are good too.
