Aw A sad sight...

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 6 July 2017 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

When the A/C was serviced, these were found on the window sill. Wonder why the pigeons did not build a nest !!!

Oh, that's sad. Sometimes birds lay their eggs in very odd places, don't know why.

6 Jul 2017 5:08am

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

They are often feckless parents. The wood pigeons here frequently leave eggs anywhere in the garden

6 Jul 2017 11:05am

@grouser: That's dangerous !! Dogs can have a go at them !!!!

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

The pigeons must not feel threatened by other predatory animals. A sad sighting indeed.

6 Jul 2017 11:50am

@Steven: On this 3rd floor the only danger is from crows. But the A/C box was replaced.And the eggs must have hatched!

hooo oui les pauvres !!!

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

No dogs in our garden but something, probably a crow or a magpie pecks the shells open and eats the contents

8 Jul 2017 5:45pm

@grouser: Yes crows and magpies are sort of cruel too! I have seen the crows seated on our mango trees waiting for the pigeons to leave the steal the eggs!
