Installing a Flag Post 1

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 15 May 2017 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

We have a beautiful Shiva Temple in a village at a Place called Neyveli near Thiruvallur( around 80 kms. from Madras). It was in ruins and discovered from inside a veritable forest of shrubs and renovated.
A flag post or KODIMARAM - as we call it, was installed recently and I am going to post the ceremonies we had before the installation.

A deep pit, some five feet in depth has been dug in which the wooden beam teak ( usually) and prepared for this.
