First day of the year

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 26 April 2017 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Well, I had posted a Temple Tower on our Tamil New Year's day on April 14th.
In our pooja room( where we place statues or pictures of our deities) we place a wooden plank on which we place our Lord Krishna's picture. Around we place many vegetables, fruits, nine types of grains, limes, coconut and money(notes) in all denominations and coins too and a little gold and silver. ..the previous night.
In the morning, before the sun rises, we look at all these so that all year through we are blessed in plenty with God's grace, food and vegetables and fruits...especially with God's grace. The master of the house then takes notes from here and hands a few to the wife, kids etc. Anyone who visits us this day will get a note. The maids, watchman..etc. receive cash from the master. We cook a feast and enjoy the day.
