A Rava Dosa is being made. This is the batter on the iron tawa(pan).
My hubby's favourite one - I mean the dosa and not the tawa :)))))
@Nicou: merci Nicou ;)
@Jypyä Pop: Hmmm...cooked on hot iron pan...like a pancake:)
@Marjolein van de fotokraam: A mixture of rice flour, plain flour and coarse semolina ( durum wheat) made into a batter and spices and curry leaves / salt added to it ...made into a batter and poured on hot iron pan and cooked on both sides with oil or clarified butter.
@ALPHA: yes something similar to pancake..but different in this that this is spicy :)
@tataray: :)))))))Thank you :)
@PATRICK: Thank you PATRICK :)
@Oiva: It is not sweet Oiva. The batter is a blend of rice flour, self raising flour coarse semolina ( durum ) flour..and a bit of pepper and cumin seeds, flavouring herbs and salt.
@omid: Thank you Omid :)
@Patrick M.: :))) Thank you Patrick :)
@Martine Libouton: Merci mille fois Martine:)
@grouser: Aw!!! You'll have to travel 350kms. to Bath Road to get your Dosas...If you are anywhere there sometime, you can have your Dosas at Sangeetha Restaurant:)))))))))))))))))))) Otherwise not worth wasting petrol !!!

@Marjolein vd fotokraam: Welcome Marjolein :)
@Sam: Thank you Sam :))) Tomorrow's is the turned over one( I think they don't do that in hotels !!!)On Friday they will be served. I wish you would post a Food shot!!
@Shiva: Thank you Monika. One point....you cannot make this on a non stick like you make the normal dosas ..The batter would simply travel towards the centre and become a lump!! It needs an iron pan ..on low flame..the batter must be thin and poured from the outer edge around so that they fill up the middle..a tough thankless job!! But I make it 'cos my hubby loves it !! You can chop onions into small pieces and add to the batter !! Hugs Devi:)
@Bruce: Yes Bruce...and perhaps adding to your weight :)
@curieuzeneuzemosterdpot: AW!! Spoiled ? That is a gross understatement !!! My kids think that I am pampering him too much!!! What to say !!! Can't change the habit of 48 years !!!
@LauraS: Ah!! I wish you'd post pictures of your crepe..My daughter in law makes them for the kids and they love it with maple syrup!!
@Baldwin Vandewalle: Thank you Baldwin...I had to discard three or four previous shot...which were flat without the smoke.. Now I am battling to get a shot of a steaming cup of coffee!! The steam is eluding me..I plan to try the next coffee shot by keeping the steaming cup inside the fridge on the shelf and try a quick shot !!!
@Elaine Hancock: Thank you Elaine:)
@L'Angevine: Merci beaucoup :))))
@Julie L. Brown, Photobirder: Yes Jules...and I am passionate about cooking:)
