I know nothing about mehendi so have read a little about it. I find it interesting that it done on the palms and forearms but not the back of the hands. There must be a reason for that tradition but I didn't find it.

@Judy aka L@dybug: I had posted one image on 23rd November 2013...where my niece( bride) has the design on the back too. It depends on the wish of the bride :) It's done just to make the bride look more beautiful. And if it is done with fresh paste...it cools the body. We apply these on the feet too.
