I wonder why they congregate like this. They don't appear to be looking for bits of food. A very interesting picture.

19 Mar 2015 3:09pm

@Don - Slackwater: They act like this once in a white and keep cawing !! Aw!! If only I knew bird language !

Bruce from Tacoma, United States

Nice city photo. Interesting that the crows are looking around more and the pigeons are eating.

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

Here we are not allowed to give the birds rice, or bread. Just grains and seeds. I like the scene of the birds together. Birds are so wonderful to watch

19 Mar 2015 5:46pm

@Ruthiebear: Anything is allowed here Elaine.. In fact, we have the custom of giving the crow the first morsel of cooked rice with a small dollop of clarified butter every morning..they are supposed to represent the souls of our ancestors:)))))

Julie L. Brown, Photobirder from Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

Interesting markings on the crows. Do they often hang out with pigeons?

20 Mar 2015 11:10am

@Julie L. Brown, Photobirder: The crows here have a patch of grey on their necks Julie. The full jet black ones are known as ravens here. Yes the pigeons and crows share the rice grains that i scatter. At times we have a couple of ambitious squirrels joining too:)) eat together!!

Judy aka L@dybug from Brooksville, FL, United States
