Awesome Rock cut Architecture /6

Posted by
Devi (Chennai, India) on 18 August 2014 in Architecture and Portfolio.

This is called the Nagabandhams......Figures of Divine Snakes drawn to protect the Treasures if any, in the secret vaults in a Temple. It is strange..The reclining figure of Lord Vishnu here is called Anantha in Trivandrum in Kerala..and there is yet an unopened secret vault there on the doors of which are carved figures of snakes which are supposed to guard the treasures..the one who meddles with these..Ah!! God help them. One of the tourists I met here told me that there are treasures buried here...
