Now...that's from a wayside restaurant. We call these poories. Kneaded wheat flour made into tiny balls, flattened with a rolling pin and deep fried. The side dish that you see here is two varieties of chutney.

it was nice but terrfic at juin 15; 30 cm snow in the night, impossible to go away 5 days long, no roads;
indian army helicopter take us to Manali ; 5.000 people death in Himachal pradesh, impossible to visit Spiti valley; all roads closed; our cars stay 1 month in Nako under snow, trees and vegetation and with the baggages; terrefic memory.

@Yvon: That must have been terrible!! I can understand the situation...we once got stranded for seven hours on the Badrinath road due to landslide and that itself was terrible!! How much more scary this might have been!! Anyway by God's grace you came out of it unscathed!
